Core Beliefs
O come, let us sing for joy to the LORD, Let us shout joyfully to the rock of our salvation. (Psalm 95:1 NASB)
Church on the Rock Melbourne (or Rock Melbourne for short) is a gospel-centric, madly-in-love-with-Jesus, Spirit-filled church. As a church we are in pursuit of knowing God personally, experiencing the work and power of the Holy Spirit, and learning how to effectively help others experience the life of God. What makes us different from other churches is the same thing that makes all churches different from each other: the people who attend. We would like to invite you to add your unique seasoning to our flavor.
We are a non-denominational church that believes the Bible is the Word of God, our foundation for belief and practice.
Our Core Beliefs are summed up in the Apostle’s Creed:
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary, Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell; The third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; The Holy catholic Church, the Communion of Saints; The Forgiveness of sins; The Resurrection of the body, And the Life everlasting. Amen.
