A WORD FROM OUR PASTOR
WHAT TO EXPECT
Expect your life to be positively transformed as you say yes to Jesus’ loving leadership and expose your heart to His living and active scriptures. That can happen anywhere! Yet that is exactly what we try to facilitate here at Rock Melbourne.
Our Sunday Service begins at 10am. Though you are welcome to join us for pre-service prayer from 9:15-9:45.
The first half hour or so of our 10am Service is an opportunity to encounter God and worship Jesus as a family with modern worship music. The children then have the option to go to their own classes while the adults encounter the love and power of God through in-depth Bible teaching. Parents are also welcome to keep their kids with them in the service if they prefer.

OUR VALUES
HIS PRESENCE: We value Worship & Prayer because Intimacy with Jesus is our first priority.
HIS WORD: We Teach from Scripture because it is the only firm foundation.
Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who
built his house on the rock. (Mt 7:24)
HIS COMMUNITY: We recognize He builds His Church through Relationships.
HIS PEOPLE: We want every Believer to Fulfill their Calling in Christ according to the pattern described in Ephesians 4:11-16.
EXPECTATIONS: So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house...(Acts 2:46)
We ask each of our Members to attend a Corporate Service and be part of a Community Group.
COMMUNITY GROUPS: And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. (Acts 2:42)
Community Groups meet regularly for one or more of these four activities: Bible Study, Relationship Building, Sharing a Meal, and Prayer.

OUR BELIEFS
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to hell.
The third day he rose again from the dead.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.
From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic* church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
*the word catholic in this creed does not refer to the denomination but to the entire body of Christ, all those who have repented and turned to Jesus as Lord and Savior. Therefore, what that part of the creed means is that we believe that Church is an invention of Christ, He is the head of it, and we are its members, servants, and beneficiaries.
Motto of the Moravian Church (and ours)
"In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity"

WHAT ABOUT MY CHILDREN?
Parents have the option to keep their kids with them in the sanctuary throughout the service or send them with our loving and trusted children's workers. Your children are safe here at The Rock. All children’s workers have full background checks and all rooms have cameras.
Babies and toddlers can be taken to the nursery at any point in the service.
Older children are dismissed to their classes after the worship. Children 3-5 years old have a fun time learning the foundational Bible stories with coloring sheets, videos, and loving teachers. There are also fun toys to play with.
Children 6-12 also learn the foundational Bible stories but take them a little deeper, applying them to discovering the heart of God and their individual destinies in Him. They also learn to hear God for themselves, to pray for one another, and to take the message and love of Jesus to the world - all the while, being kids and having fun!

WHAT ABOUT YOUTH?
Rock Melbourne Youth meets Sunday evenings from 6:30-8:00pm. Many of the youth are not from our church. All the youth are encouraged to participate in their own church's weekend services, Bible studies, etc. and not leave the corporate pursuit of Jesus to the adults alone. For more info on Rock Melbourne Youth click here: Youth Group
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
There is no dress code at COTRM. We are more concerned with meeting your spiritual needs than what you wear. People who attend COTRM wear anything from casual or business casual to a suit and tie or a dress. Please feel free to wear what is comfortable for you.
